DR ADAM WINDEL

Associate Veterinarian

Adam is a graduate of Charles Sturt University, where he was awarded his Bachelor in Veterinary Science. Whilst studying for his degree he spent time in South Africa, working to treat and relocate native animals – including Lions!

Today, his key responsibilities are a little less hair-raising. They include small animal consultations, surgical procedures and furthering veterinary education liaisons, whilst at the same time undertaking further surgical education. One of Adams stand out moments working for VetMed involved the care of a feline patient who was hit by a car. Fractures in her pelvis and a dislocated tail caused impaired bladder and bowel control and required tail amputation. After several weeks of bed rest and nursing care at VetMed Randwick, and subsequent amputation of the tail by Adam, this beautiful patient made a full recovery and was reunited with her family.

When he’s not busy working at VetMed, Adam enjoys road cycling, playing golf and skiing, as well as practicing the acoustic guitar and sharpening his culinary skills so he can cook for his ‘foodie’ wife. He is also the on-call vet for his parents’ new golden retriever puppy, Frankie
