Dr Raymond J. Gates

Veterinary

Raymond is a new graduate of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at University of Sydney and the newest addition to the Vetmed team.

Originally born and raised in Tennessee, Raymond completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas in the United States and was awarded a BSc in Animal Science. After working as a veterinary technician for multiple years, Raymond decided to dedicate all the energy he used growing hair on the top of his head to instead pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian. After moving to Australia to attend the University of Sydney, he immediately fell in love with Australian culture and decided to stay in the country after graduation. Raymond has a particular interest in surgery, though he has a strong interest in all facets of veterinary medicine. Currently, Raymond is expanding his skill set through further education in diagnostic imaging.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Gates is an active individual who enjoys bodybuilding, and engaging in competitive sports. A day at the beach or playing video games is his preferred form of relaxation. Complementing a compassionate approach to veterinary care, Raymond and his partner are actively involved in fostering cats to prepare them for their forever homes
